Training

It is now a mandatory requirement for anyone liable to be exposed to be asbestos to have Asbestos Awareness Training.

OHEC can provide asbestos awareness training to suit your requirements.

Our Asbestos Awareness course is designed to satisfy the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

We can work with you to develop a course that will suit the specific needs of the staff within your organsation. Not a one size fits all approach.

Remember, It is your duty as an employer to ensure that adequate information, instruction and training is given to those of his employees  who are or who are liable to be exposed to asbestos, or who supervise such employees, so that they are aware of-

- The properties of asbestos and its effects on health, including its interaction with smoking,
- The types of products or materials likely to contain asbestos,
- Operations which could result in asbestos exposure and the importance of preventive controls to minimize exposure
- Safe work practices, control measures, and protective equipment including the correct use, purpose and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment
- Emergency procedures,
- Hygiene requirements,
- Decontamination procedures,
- Waste handling procedures,
- Medical examination requirements, and the control limit and the need for air monitoring,
Note. OHEC have recently been providing sessions regarding an introduction to Notifiable Non-Licsensed Work (NNLW). These sessions are aimed at supervisors and managers who need to authorise and oversee emergency asbestos abatement work.
